The fishing sports Club — Fishermanship academy — started its work in 2001 and has 90 members, 30 of which are the active sportsmen who take part in fishing competitions with spinning, float fishing rod, coachman and winter trolling. Among the club members there are grown-ups as well as teenagers and children who take the active part in different competitions and activities held by the club. There are the sections specializing in sports spinning, float fishing rod, winter coachman and winter trolling fishing within the club.

Taking part in different sports competitions of All Russian, regional and town levels the Club sportsmen has become the winners and the prize owners of the following ranks:

• Russian master of sports in fishing — 3
• Candidate master of sports — 8
• Sportsman of the 1-st level — 12
• Sportsman of the 2-nd level — 7
• Sportsman of the 3-d level — 10

The fishing sports Club — Fishermanship academy — manages the organizational & methodic activities on the organization and providing inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League (Russian Spinning Cup) which includes 2 divisions — the Highest and the First — with 136 spinning sportsmen of the 20 regions of Russia (among them there are the members of Fishermanship academy Club). The picked teams for the World spinning championships are formed out of the sportsmen of the Russian Spinning League.

The judge chamber of the Saratov region on the sports fishing consists of 30 members, the chairman is Nikolai Grigorjevich Kozlachkov — the judge of the republic level. Among the judges are 2 judges of the republic level, 8 judges of the 1-st level, 11 sports judges and 9 trainees. The chamber presidium consists of 5 persons. The judge seminars are held on a regular basis twice a year (in April and November) within the fishing sports Club — Fishermanship Academy.

The fishing sports Club — Fishermanship Academy — in close cooperation with the Ministry on the physical culture, sports and tourism of the Saratov region, the Committee on the physical culture and sports of the administration of Saratov provides the active work upon the organization and managing of the fishing competitions of the All-Russian, regional and town levels specializing in sports spinning, float fishing rod, coachman and winter trolling fishing. The Club obtains its own 60 one-type boats propelled by oars for the spinning fishing competitions.

Since 2001, the Club has held the following competitions of All-Russian and inter-regional levels:

• Season 2001:
• Championship of Russia-2001 in boat spinning fishing;

Season 2002:

• RORS Championship-2002 in boat spinning fishing;
• Open championship of the Saratov region «Saratov Troll-2002» in boat spinning fishing;

Season 2003:

• Inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League in boat spinning fishing, the highest division;
• Inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League in boat spinning fishing, the first division;

Season 2004:

• Open championship of the Saratov region «Saratov Troll-2004» in boat spinning fishing;
• Championship of Russia-2004 in boat spinning fishing;

Season 2005:

• Open championship of the Saratov region «Saratov Troll-2005» in boat spinning fishing;
• Inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League, Fishermanship Academy Cup, in boat spinning fishing, the highest division;
• Inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League, Fishermanship Academy Cup, in boat spinning fishing, the first division;
• Inter-regional competitions of the Russian Spinning League, Fishermanship Academy Cup, in boat spinning fishing, the second division;

Season 2006:

• Championship of the Saratov region «Saratov Troll-2006» in boat spinning fishing;
• VI Championship of Russia-2006 in boat spinning fishing.

Besides, there were held 24 competitions of the local level in boat sports spinning fishing, float fishing rod and winter ice trolling coachman fishing.

1106 sportsmen took part in the above-mentioned competitions.
